How much admin time does muntry save a caterer?
Where a caterer's admin hours go, how a single dashboard cuts them, and how to check the saving in your own kitchen.
Short answer: muntry is designed to take about 3 hours of admin time off a caterer's day, by our estimate, by keeping enquiries, quotes, invoices, deposits and payment chasing in one dashboard instead of across email, DMs, notes and PDFs.
Where does a caterer's admin time actually go?
Most of it is small jobs that repeat all day:
- Finding enquiries spread across email, Instagram DMs, texts and website forms.
- Asking each customer the same questions: date, head count, venue, dietaries, budget.
- Rebuilding an accepted quote as an invoice, then checking the totals match.
- Chasing deposits and balances, and remembering who has already been chased.
- Working out which dates are confirmed, which are only quoted and which are unpaid.
Each one takes minutes. Added up across a busy week, they take the hours you would rather spend cooking.
How does muntry cut that admin?
- One board for every enquiry. Website form, DM or typed in by hand, it all lands in the same list.
- An enquiry form that asks the right questions. Date, head count, venue, dietaries and budget arrive with the request, so your first reply is a quote.
- Quote to invoice with no re-typing. An accepted quote becomes the invoice, GST and ABN included.
- Deposits and reminders. The board shows what is unpaid and for how long, and muntry sends payment reminders to your customers.
See the full list on the quote, invoice and deposit software page.
Is 3 hours a day realistic?
It is our estimate for a busy kitchen, not a guarantee. The saving depends on how many enquiries you handle and how much of the process is done by hand today. A kitchen with a few enquiries a week will save less than one juggling many across texts, email and DMs. muntry is early and working with a small number of pilot kitchens, so we would rather you test it than take our word for it.
How can I measure my own admin time?
- For one normal week, note the minutes you spend on enquiries, quotes, invoices, chasing payments and checking dates.
- Total each category, and note which ones you do in more than one place.
- Try the same week with everything on one board and compare.
